Services + Information

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all therapeutic services are currently only being offered by telehealth or in person in a nature based setting in or around Portland, OR. It is my hope to return to in-person sessions in the future.

    Initial phone consultation:
I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation via phone or video chat to answer any questions you have about therapy and ensure that my approach will be a good match for what you would like to address in therapy

    Intake Session:
After our initial phone consultation, should you decide you would like to work with me, we will schedule an intake appointment. At that time we will discuss in depth what brought you to therapy, what you want to work on, the therapeutic modalities you’d like to access (art, eco and/or talk therapy) and the frequency of sessions that makes sense for you. Most clients meet weekly for 60 minute individual therapy sessions. Longer sessions can be accommodated based on the needs of the client, and the price of these sessions will be prorated in accordance with the length of the session.

    Ongoing Individual Therapy Sessions:
Depending on the modality you prefer at any given time, we may meet online and use our time together to discuss emergent issues, identify resources, build skills and establish next steps towards wellness.

In an art therapy session, I will either provide art prompts to help you deepen your understanding of a current concern or challenge or support you in exploring art media and process as a means of understanding a current issue or pattern and identifying strengths, resources and next steps. It may be that the images you create provide some insight or it may be that the act of engaging in the creative process provides some catharsis or a sense of ease. You do not need to be an artist or have any artistic skill to experience the great benefits of making art as part of the therapeutic process.

In an ecotherapy session, we would likely meet at an agreed upon location in nature in or around the greater Portland area. Together we will take time to ground and orient ourselves to our surroundings. We will identify your needs and rely on our engagement with the more than human world as a resource and a guide towards personal insight. I take universal precautions when meeting outdoors and am certified in First Aid and CPR. Prior to meeting outdoors, we will discuss the inherent risks of walking in the natural world and will establish parameters that align with your comfort and skill level.

Should venturing outdoors not feel like a good fit for you at this time, I am able to facilitate ecotherapy sessions indoors via teletherapy as well.

  • You might come to therapy for a variety of reasons ranging from emotional and physical challenges related to Depression, Anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

You might be seeking support in personal growth and development or you might be needing support to navigate a life transition.

I will work collaboratively with you to identify the root causes of the patterns of thoughts and behaviors that are creating discomfort and disharmony in your life. Together, through the use of art and nature connection, we will work to bolster your internal and external resources to support you through the process of transforming old ways of being that are no longer serving you.

By committing to yourself in this way, you will begin to develop a more profound sense of stability within yourself that can bring you a greater sense of ease, freedom, and fulfillment in your life.

  • Groups can act as a support network and a sounding board.

The fundamental goal of group therapy is to initiate a sense of belonging or relatability through understanding, which can be achieved by sharing common experiences. For this reason, group therapy is most effective when utilized to address a specific concern common such as navigating a life transition.

Often other members of the group will support you in developing new insights and tools for improving a difficult situation or life challenge, and hold you accountable along the way.

Groups range in size from 4 to 6 participants and generally run in 6 to 8 week cycles.

  • Are you seeking an alternative form of healing through plant medicines, spiritual exploration or altered states of consciousness? Are you needing support to assess your readiness and emotionally prepare for your exploration? Have you had a psychedelic journey and need support making sense of your experience and integrating new insights?

Plant-based medicines are experiencing a resurgence of popularity with the endorsement of experts in the field of medicine, psychotherapy, and spirituality due to their unique capacity to support individuals in navigating challenging life experiences and difficult treatment issues including drug and alcohol addiction, medication resistant depression, anxiety, chronic pain and PTSD. Entheogens have been used by indigenous people for thousands of years to support emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Today, the stigma of these substances in Western culture is waning as more and more people engage in their use and attest to their healing potential.

While the majority of these psychedelic substances remain illegal in the United States, individuals are finding their way to these plant-based medicines for their healing and transformative capacities. While I cannot legally endorse or facilitate your use of these substances, I can offer you support in preparing for and processing your psychedelic journey. Working with plant-based medicines can be a life altering undertaking and I can support you in being well informed and setting intentions prior to your experience, as well as helping you safely integrate new levels of consciousness and states of being afterwards. These are not experiences to engage in lightly as psychedelic experiences can help individuals release trauma stored in the body, process relational wounds, explore deep seated fears and ponder new possibilities for ourselves. Having guidance throughout this process can support you in remaining resourced and grounded as you work to generalize powerful, and sometimes dysregulating, insights into your daily life.

Using the lens of Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, I will collaborate with you to explore your call to these medicines, offer you fresh insights as they relate to your individual life experiences, help you make meaning of your altered states of consciousness, and provide you with art and nature-based strategies to integrate the lessons of your psychedelic journey so that you reap the full benefit of these medicines.

Individual or Group Psychedelic Integration available.

Please check with your insurance provider to verify out-of-network benefits if you are considering this option, as reimbursement is the responsibility of the client.
